In Katowice, many of the city's residents, are affiliated work, at one of the many coal mines, located in, or around the ciy.

The profession of mineworker, is often passed along, in the male population. A profession, that is associated with short life and many dangers, during a workday.

Poland is Europe’s biggest hard coal producer and was once, one of the world’s leading suppliers.
